Leagues

Leagues are time-limited competitive events where parties compete against each other by progressing in specific skills. They're a fun way to challenge other players and earn valuable rewards through cooperation with your party.

What Are Leagues?

Each league focuses on a specific skill, and your party earns contributions by progressing in that skill during the league's active period. The top 25 parties at the end of the league receive shard rewards, with higher ranks earning more shards.

Leagues typically run for several days and come in different varieties, each with their own rules and restrictions.

Joining a League

To participate in a league, your party must meet certain requirements:

  • You must be a party - Only parties can join leagues, not solo characters.
  • Only the party leader can join - The party leader is the only one who can register or withdraw the party.
  • The league must be active - You can join upcoming leagues before they start, or active leagues that are currently running. Ended leagues cannot be joined.
  • Your party size must fit - Each league has a maximum party size. Your entire party must fit within that limit or you cannot join.
  • Class restrictions may apply - Some leagues only accept certain character classes. All members of your party must have eligible classes.

How Contributions Work

When your party joins a league, contributions are tracked automatically as party members engage in the target activity:

  • Experience-Based Leagues Track experience gained in the target skill (like Woodcutting or Mining).
  • Kills-Based Leagues Track kills earned in combat.

Contributions only count toward the league during its active period. If you perform an action before joining the league, that progress won't be counted. Similarly, once the league ends, new contributions stop being recorded.

Each party member's individual contributions are tracked separately, so you can see who contributed most. However, your party's total contribution is what determines your rank on the leaderboard.

League Types

Different leagues focus on different skills. Here are the available league targets:

League Skill Contribution Type
Woodcutting League Woodcutting Experience
Mining League Mining Experience
Fishing League Fishing Experience
Alchemy League Alchemy Experience
Smelting League Smelting Experience
Cooking League Cooking Experience
Forge League Forge Experience
Meditation League Meditation Experience
Battle League Combat (via battling only) Experience or Kills

Rewards

Finish in the top 25 and you'll earn shards for everyone on your team. Each party member gets the same reward based on your party's final rank.

The rewards below are the baseline amounts for a one-month league. Since leagues vary in length, the payouts scale accordingly—longer leagues pay more, shorter ones pay less.

Rank Shards Per Member
1st 10,000
2nd 7,500
3rd 5,000
4th 3,000
5th 2,500
6th 2,000
7th 1,800
8th 1,600
9th 1,400
10th 1,200
11th 1,000
12th 900
13th 800
14th 700
15th 600
16th-25th 500

How Scaling Works

The rewards adjust based on how long the league runs. Here's how to calculate your actual rewards:

  • Two-month leagues pay twice as much (first place gets 20,000 shards)
  • Two-week leagues pay half (first place gets 5,000 shards)
  • One-week leagues pay a quarter (first place gets 2,500 shards)

So if you finish first in a three-week league, you'd earn somewhere between the two-week and one-month amounts.

After scaling, every reward is rounded up to the next 100 shards, so even small payouts bump up to the nearest hundred.

Every team member gets the same shard amount, and you'll receive your rewards as soon as the league ends. Only the top 25 parties get rewards, so aim high!

Party Restrictions

While your party is registered for a league, several restrictions apply:

  • No new members can join - Your party cannot accept new members while participating in a league.
  • Only the leader can join or leave - Only the party leader has the authority to register or withdraw from a league.
  • No pending invites - When your party joins a league, any pending invitations are automatically cancelled.

Leaving a League

Only the party leader can withdraw the party from a league:

After leaving, you can rejoin the same league if it's still active, but you'll start from zero contributions.

Tips for Success

  • Coordinate with your party - Talk with your teammates about which leagues to join. Choose ones where your members excel in the target skill.
  • Plan your time - Leagues run for several days. Make sure your party can stay engaged throughout the league's duration.
  • Watch the leaderboard - Check your party's standing regularly. See who's leading and what contribution gap you need to close.
  • Bring the right classes - If a league has class restrictions, make sure all your members are eligible before joining.

Additional Notes

  • Your individual contributions are tracked for each member, so you can see the breakdown of who contributed most to your party's total.
  • If you're interested in competing but don't have a party yet, consider checking out the parties page to learn how to create or join one.
  • Leagues are a great way to earn shards and test your skills against other players in a structured competition.
